Raku, Cathedral Commons, Washington, DC

RAKU, located in the new Cathedral Commons Development in Washington, DC, is Owner, Marcel The and Chef Masaru Homma’s modern update of the RAKU Concept. Incorporating Traditional Japanese Design Elements, the restaurant features a massive illuminated sculptural ceiling inspired by the natural canopy created by Washington’s Famous Cherry Blossom Trees along The Tidal Basin, given as a gift of friendship from the Japanese to the United States. A warm-neutral palette with accents of Cedar, Magenta and Canary Yellow, the design provokes a natural, yet modern and playful atmosphere.
